The Sound Of Star Trek Into Darkness
I love everything about this! The happy birthday song is priceless. Five stars.
The Making of John Mayer’s “Born & Raised” Artwork
Beautiful. The pencil drawings blow my mind. It’s also encouraging to see someone who is a master at their craft and pays that much attention to detail. Really great mini documentary.
New Postal Service
“A Tattered Line Of String”
Not bad guys. It’s a bit spastic and cliche - but considering it’s an unreleased track I guess that could mean it was out before cliche was cliche. In that case, imagine hearing it 10 years ago when “Give Up” first released, it probably would have blown your mind. So, yeah… things to think about….
I Love This. I think I’ve watched it at least 20 times since it came out. BECK is a genius, and often underestimated by the music world. If this doesn’t prove something to you, then I don’t know what will. A+ Beck, A+.

The Landfill Harmonic Trailer
“The World sends us garbage. We send back music.” Favio Chavez, Orchestra Director
This is just beautiful. I can’t wait to see the whole documentary. Ingenuity meets the joy of music meets the persistence of champions. Seriously, you and I have no excuses left. Wow.
Benjamin Gibbard “Teardrop Windows”
I like Foster the People and I like like Legos. Someone put some crazy hours into this…. really well done.
HOYLE - “LITTLE THINGS”
I’m a huge fan of this band. The guys are all brilliant and it definitely was an honor to mix and master their record. Be on the lookout for the release this Spring. Until then, enjoy the single “Little Things”. I think this track has some of my favorite drums in recent memory. Bringing the rock. Great job guys.
CIVIL PARISH - “IN CHRIST ALONE”
I had the pleasure of mixing the Civil Parish Live EP this fall. The EP hasn’t been released yet, but you can get a taste by watching this video of “In Christ Alone”. Trust me, the rest of the songs are equally as awesome - I can’t wait until the EP comes out! Stay tuned…
More great music from Fast Planet! This time it’s a cover of Iron & Wine’s “Naked As We Came”. Glad to have been a part of this one: mixed and mastered this little gem.
Check out the article about Fast Planet’s version of “Naked As We Came” on CoS
Adelee & Gentry’s “Waiting For Christmas” is out on iTunes and you NEED to get your hands on a copy… or five… think stocking stuffers! It’s an amazing record. This is the 2nd project I’ve been able to mix for the girls. Once again, producer Jason Webb was at the helm along with the some of the best players around.
The EP includes four classic Christmas songs (A&G style) and one original (“Waiting for Christmas”) plus a bonus unplugged track. I can’t wait for you guys to hear this record - tight harmonies, gorgeous strings and tons of christmas vibe.
Getting you primed for the holidays folks!
Myla Smith: “Slow Down” Music Video
A new music video from Myla! Here’s the music video for the single “Slow Down”. If you haven’t bought or listened to her EP, check it out here - it’s pretty awesome if I’m allowed to say so!
I just finished the music for a new Gould’s commercial set to air this fall. It started with a rough sketch, then I sent files over to Garrick Jordan who put even more beats on top - including some ridiculous beat boxing. After it was all assembled I put final keys and transitions in, then mixed and mastered the track. Looking forward to seeing it on TV! Listen to the track below…
Myla Smith’s new record is here! It was incredibly fun producing and mixing this one - I’m really proud of it. The songs are amazing, and I got to work with some of my favorite musicians - talk about a win win. We really got to explore and experiment with some cool sounds and textures, and as always Myla’s voice is fantastic. Do yourself a favor and check it out on iTunes.
All other things Myla Smith can be found at her website.
Fast Planet - Columbus Music Video
It’s been several months since the release, and I’m still loving this record. I’m really glad I got to be a part of its creation.
Here’s a very cool and mildy scary new music video from the Fast Planet guys. You might not want to go swimming for awhile after this one.
I’m currently mixing an LP for Hoyle right now and love how it’s coming together! It’s got all the right stuff going for it… great melodies, gang vocals, cool drum and guitar parts, and lots of fun noises (gotta have those). “Massa Peccati” is quickly becoming one of my favorite mix projects to date.
You’ll have to ask the guys about their crazy year of tracking four different versions! Head over to their site for a taste and be sure to follow them - they’ll post another song with every 100 followers.
I can’t wait for y’all to hear this beauty.
It was Christmas in July!!! I can’t tell you how much fun I had working on an upcoming EP for Adelee & Gentry, it being the 2nd record I’ve been privileged to mix for them! On my first listen through, I was already hooked on all the interesting orchestral parts, rock drums and harmonies. Let’s just say that something magical happens when you combine Jason Webb’s production and string parts, an all star team of musicians and original takes on your Christmas favorites.
Believe me, this is one record you want to get your hands on and two sisters you need to keep your ears on! In the meantime, grab a copy of their latest iTunes release “Nice to Meet You…” and follow them on twitter.
Well done ladies. Well done.
Myla Smith’s new EP is coming soon. Lots of exciting things going down in the studio. You will love her new stuff. Stay tuned and stay classy!
This EP is amazing! Thankful Keith Everette Smith let me tackle the mix on “Wretched Soul” - love that song. Awesome job Brad Damas and Matt Campbell.
Excited about this upcoming EP produced by Kyle Smith. Really enjoying working with this guy. Watch out y’all - this producer/mixer team is a force to be reckoned with!
Worship leader Drew Miller from Brentwood Church shares a creative spin on a few familiar worship songs - definitely worth a listen. This new EP hits iTunes July 3rd so be sure to check it out!
The release of these 2 records marks what I hope is a long and fruitful relationship with Memphis’ own Visible Music College. I’ve been fortunate to team up with good buddy Kirk Smith, also head of music production for Madison Line Records.
It was privilege getting to mix Visible Worship Band’s first full length album, as well as 2 songs for She Said! Their styles are polar opposites and I really enjoyed the diversity of the projects. Go check ‘em out yourself and you can be one of the first to say, “I knew them when…”
Here’s another song that was designed for the Rivers of Hope Foundation. Check out this great article about Philip Rivers being named 2012 Walter Payton NFL man of the year finalist due to his work with Rivers of Hope.
Thanks again to Mark Trussell for his guitar magic.
New Radio Single for Life Church Memphis. Great people, Great vision… Love them!
Custom music made for Rivers of Hope. The Rivers of Hope Foundations was started by Philip Rivers, the quarterback for the San Diego Chargers, and his wife Tiffany Rivers. This foundation’s mission is to help unwanted kids find a great home; a home that allows these children to love, gives them a chance to believe and ultimately learn to trust.
Big Thanks to Mark Trussell for playing on this. Great work.
The Victor Marx Story - Original Score
The Victor Marx Story premiered locally Tuesday night! This is the first time I got to see the completed film, and I have to say it was pretty awesome. Victor’s story is unbelievable and the way he’s used that to help others is incredible. I have so much respect for Victor and what he’s doing - I was definitely inspired and encouraged by the film and the conversations we had while working on the project together.
There’s a lot of info on Victor’s website about his story, mission, and how you can help.
